Policy Engagement: KU-WEE Hub holds meeting with ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action

Deliberations centered around utilization of gender data for WEE policy impactNairobi, 20 February, 2023. KU-WEE Hub and the ministry of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action have today held a meeting to strengthen the working relationship between the Hub and the ministry’s state department for gender and affirmative action.During the meeting led by the KU-WEE Hub Leader Prof. Judith Waudo and the Principal Secretary, state department for Gender and Affirmative Action, Ms. Veronica M. Nduva, the two institutions deliberated on ways the Hub can better align itself with national and county government agencies to ensure that the data generated through research can be used to impact Women’s Economic Empowerment programme and policy design and implementation.

Stakeholder engagement is at the core of the Hub’s approach as it provides the Hub a great opportunity to share gender data with policy makers and advocate for its use in WEE policy and programme formulation and implementation. Through advocacy and policy engagement activities, KU-WEE Hub has been keen to engage WEE stakeholders at all levels for policy impact.
