The Hub held a policy dialogue with line ministries to discuss the existing mismatch between areas of specialization and placement for both apprenticeship and internship programmes. The insights from the study were well received by both TVET and Ministry of education for Policy action.
In Tharaka Nithi, a Policy brief based on a situational analysis of women’s livelihoods in the County, was submitted to the County assembly. The Debate at the County Assembly and the County Cabinet will potentially lead to the policy on adoption of smart agricultural practices to enhance women’s livelihoods.
Similarly, the line Ministry welcomed the policy recommendations from the Hub’s study on Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and forged collaboration with the WEE- Hub on SGBV for evidence-based research.
Following the Hub’s policy recommendations plans are underway with the County Government of Makueni for support to conduct an assessment to establish human resource capacity gaps on Gender Based Violence data.
