Date and Time: 15th October 2021 9.00 – 11.10 am East Africa Time
Women are largely underrepresented in management and leadership, a situation that leads to gender inequalities in the workplace and wage gaps. In Kenya, women face a myriad of barriers which include but not limited to historical, economic, and social-cultural factors in their quest to participate in management and leadership. This Webinar brings together government officials, advocates, researchers, programme implementers, and non-government actors to share how policies governing gender have been implemented, barriers to women’s participation and ways in which these can be addressed, and discuss advocacy, policy, and programme recommendations that can enhance women’s placement, participation and advancement in management and leadership positions in the public sector for economic empowerment.
